Package: pan Version: 0.132-3.1 Severity: normal
pan reproducably (at the moment) crashes when trying to open or update any group. The crash leaves a line like the following in dmesg: pan[3067]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f6b5eb9ecba sp 00007fffafc0bbf0 error 4 in libc-2.7.so[7f6b5eb69000+14a000] 'pan --debug' doesn't say anything and 'gdb pan' isn't much use without debugging symbols but I've attached an strace, which will hopefully show enough information. The box and pan have been fine in this config for weeks. The only thing unusual going on is that the system is under high I/O load (mdadm's monthly array check is running at the moment). Other apps on the box are fine if a bit slow. Since the glibc error message said memory corruption (yuck!) I checked the MCE log - if there is any ECC isn't picking up on it at all.
