Package: autoconf Version: 2.64-4 Severity: normal I have the following packages installed: autoconf 2.64-4 autoconf2.59 2.59-1 I want to build a kde 3.5 app which is not compatible with ac 2.64, so I need to use 2.59. I really should not have to patch the build scripts of the application in invoke autoconf2.59, but use the alternatives mechanism. For now, it is even impossible to remove autoconf (2.64) to have only the 2.59 version: dpkg: dependency problems prevent removal of autoconf: automake depends on autoconf (>= 2.60). autoconf2.59 depends on autoconf (>= 2.50).
Please consider removing dependency of autoconf2.59 on autoconf, and providing update-alternatives. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages autoconf depends on: ii debianutils 3.2.1 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii m4 1.4.13-2 a macro processing language ii perl 5.10.1-6 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction Versions of packages autoconf recommends: ii automake [automaken] 1:1.11-1 A tool for generating GNU Standard Versions of packages autoconf suggests: pn autoconf-archive <none> (no description available) pn autoconf-doc <none> (no description available) pn autoconf2.13 <none> (no description available) ii gettext 0.17-8 GNU Internationalization utilities pn gnu-standards <none> (no description available) ii libtool 2.2.6a-4 Generic library support script -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
