.... for those who don't want to erase there Windows installation to
heal this
phenomenon - you can teach Windows to keep it's fingers from the CMOS
clock by setting the following DWORD key to 1
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation\RealTimeIsUniversal
If it doesn't exist, create it. I could only state that this works for
Vista, but it is also said to
function with WIN XP and 7. This key, obviously also disables time sync
functionalities
if there were some enabled. A little nasty side effect of that might be
a wrong time setting
in Windows for many people - for me, it doesn't matter since I don't
work there with
time-critical applications. For those who do, this means that you have
to set the correct
local time directly after every boot - less pain in my eyes.
