Package: kernel-package
Version: 12.025
Severity: normal
Currently make-kpkg produces split debuginfo for modules and does not
add .gnu_debuglink section. This causes problems with tools that expect
debuginfo files with extension .debug (like libwd1, used by systemtap).
This section can be added using the following command:
objcopy --add-gnu-debuglink=/path/to/debuginfo/module.ko
/path/to/module.ko
(This was not reported earlier because systemtap also looks under build
directory for debuginfo, and I rarely clean it :/ )
