Does it help if you add this line to your fetchmailrc: poll dummy.invalid with proto ETRN no dns
This forces fetchmail to obtain a proper hostname, rather than "localhost". This entry will cause socket errors, but using "skip" rather than "poll" doesn't work. Just to see where the bug really is.
