Hello Antonio,
it seem, my last post was lost or I have not gotten a message back over
the PTS/BTS.
I have installes since some weeks:
mutt:
Installiert: 1.5.20-2~bpo50+1
Kandidat: 1.5.20-2~bpo50+1
Versions-Tabelle:
*** 1.5.20-2~bpo50+1 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
1.5.18-6 0
990 http://michelle1.private.tamay-dogan.net lenny/main Packages
900 ftp://ftp2.de.debian.org lenny/main Packages
but the problem persists.
Describtion:
1) I get the messages from my BACKUP MX on my Intranet Mail Server
<mail.private.tamay-dogan.net> which is then treated by
"courier-mta-ssl" and "procmail"
2) Now I start my workstation and run "mutt"...
3) Mutt does find new messages and I can walk trough the mailfolders
4) Now if I have not seen all mailfolders, I close "mutt"
5) Problem: If I start mutt now, it does not more find any new
messages, even if I have never seen/touched the mailfolder
The bug has definitively to do with "imap_idle" and "header_cache"
and if "mutt" recive a new notification from "courier-imap-ssl" about
new mails, "mutt" write it immediately to the "header_cache" which I see
in the "atime" in the "header_cache".
In a second configuration I do not use "imal_idle" and poll the IMAP
server all 10 minutes which give me:
1) I get the messages from my BACKUP MX on my Intranet Mail Server
<mail.private.tamay-dogan.net> which is then treated by
"courier-mta-ssl" and "procmail"
2) Now I start my workstation and run "mutt"...
3) Mutt does find new messages and I can walk trough the mailfolders
4) Now if I have not seen all mailfolders, I close "mutt"
5) IT WORKS: If I start "mutt" again, it poll the mailfolder and find
all the unseen messages and it just works.
Can this problem solved?
I was some times not @Work and gotten more then 400.000 messages in over
2400 Mailfolders and my XWindow System crashed unexpected. Now I have to
find all mailfolders (I have more then 13.000) where new mails can be.
This situation is not realy funny, because I have many business mails
under the folders.
And now, I can not simply delete the "header_cache" because downloading
the mailboxes again would take more then 3 weeks over GSM/GPRS since
most mailboxes have more then 5000 messages in it
Off-Line IMAP is in the business definitively no solution and opens
security holes in all directions
Have a nice week
