Since a previous update (I can't remember which) mount can't open credential file, showing the following error message: error -1 (Unknown error 18446744073709551615) opening credential file /etc/samba/credentials My configuration doesn't change at anytime and it has been working properly sometime ago (before that update which I can't remember). This is my configuration info: # cat /etc/fstab //192.168.0.100/software /media/software cifs user,noauto,credentials=/etc/samba/credentials 0 0 # ls -l /etc/samba total 20 -rw------- 1 root root 37 may 18 12:03 credentials $ mount /media/software error -1 (Unknown error 18446744073709551615) opening credential file /etc/samba/credentials If I change credentials privileges, so all can read the file, mount works fine, but I exposed my credentials data to anyone.
