I see two things here. The immediate problem is a defect in gnutls's pkg-config script, which does not list the dependency.
The other is that when building without pkg-config, lynx is using -lcrypt rather than -lgcrypt (I'll modify that, but it won't fix the problem you've reported, so this ought to be reassigned to gnutls). -- Thomas E. Dickey <[email protected]> http://invisible-island.net ftp://invisible-island.net
