Sam,

It seems that the use of db3 in pam_userdb has become substantially more
important recently, because libnss-db is now linked against libdb4.2 as
well, leaving pam_userdb as the only significant tool that depends on db3.

I'm assured by one of the libdb maintainers that a rebuild against libdb4.3
won't require any additional work to maintain compatibility with db3 on-disk
databases.  Indeed, given that the create.pl included with Linux-PAM will
now (as of sarge) create db4 databases (as reported in bug #270431), I think
that wouldn't even be a very strong argument for delaying the change to db4.

I propose to fix this in the upload of pam 0.79-1, with your approval.
