  I haven't switched window managers in the recent past; I'm pretty sure
that it used to work with blackbox 0.70.0-4.  It does work with fvwm,
but seeing as I use blackbox that doesn't do _me_ much good. :-)
  As I said, I believe that this happened when I switched from
xserver-xfree86 to xserver-xorg (though it could still ultimately be
blackbox's fault, of course...).

  AFAICS all of them are in front.  I can lower windows to my heart's
content and they never go behind the xine window.  If I raise the xine
window, it does come to the front, but moving the mouse around the xine
window (without clicking anything) will sometimes cause other windows to
jump back in front of it.
