Package: spamassassin
Version: 3.0.3-2
Severity: important

The aforementioned problem still exists. It does, however, only
occur if the ident daemon installed on the system cannot deal with
semi-closed connections (in this case: client writing end shut down).
'spamc' will produce such a connection, and 'spamd' will try to
verify it via 'ident' -- and fail if the ident daemon is uncapable.

Daemons known to work even on semi-closed connections:
    bidentd, oidentd.

Daemons known *not* to work on semi-closed connections:
    pidentd, gidentd.

(The 'midentd' package seemed completely broken to me.)

I've filed this as bug reports on 'pidentd' (#320133) and
'gidentd' (#320135).

Cheers,
Alex
