Package: autobook Version: 1.4.3-unofficial-1 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream
Hi,
The autobook upstream tarball uses automake version 1.9.* for building
from CVS. This automake ships a texinfo.tex which fails to typeset
autobook.texi:
Runaway argument?
[EMAIL PROTECTED] @[EMAIL PROTECTED] AC_ARG_ENABLE(@var{feature},
@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
! File ended while scanning use of @next
.
Therefore, an evil workaround is implemented in autobook's bootstrap
script, which forces an install of texinfo.tex as shipped with automake
1.4.*: texinfo's texi2dvi does typeset autobook.texi just fine with that
old version.
I suspect there's a bug in the autobook.texi sources. All stuff needed
to reproduce this bug, as well as some instructions, is available from
a small tarball at
http://mdcc.cx/pub/autobook/scratch/autobook-texi-build-bug-20050727.tar.gz .
I've tried to squash this bug myself, but failed: apparently I lack the
needed texinfo clue. I'd really love if somebody with more texinfo clue
could share some insight with me on this issue. Once a solution is
found, I'll ship a new upstream autobook .tar.gz.
Thanks, Bye,
Joost
