Package: hwinfo
Version: 8.38-3
Severity: normal

I've used hwinfo frequently, ever since discovering it, to return
accurate monitor refresh rates, and modes for use with vga= vesafb
consoles. However, since switching to this AMD64 system, I've had zero
output from my two commonly used commands.

This is NOT and amd64 arch problem, as I receive output from my Athlon64
office machine (AGP ATI Radeon 9200SE) - just not on this one (PCIe
GeForce 6800GT). I've also successfully used an AGP 6800 on i386 before,
so I don't believe there's a problem with the higher-end nvidia cards.
