The source is provided for some of the images in data/ as 'ship.pov',
'font.pov', 'rocks.pov'.

So although the build dependency is not declared in debian/control,
changing those images via their preferred form of modification would
require non-free software. :/

Ideally the package should switch to generating those images at build
time, as well.

Perhaps get upstream to switch to SVG and inkscape to generate the .png
files?  Bit of a long shot, I suppose.
