Starting with 22.7-1 (not available for investigation) or 22.8-1, "fuser
-m" is unusable as the tool kills itself before doing anything useful:
$ mkdir /tmp/mountpoint
$ sudo mount -t tmpfs -o size=1M memory /tmp/mountpoint
$ touch /tmp/mountpoint/file
$ sudo aptitude install psmisc=22.6-1
[...]
$ tail -f /tmp/mountpoint/file &
[1] 22477
$ fuser -k -m -v /tmp/mountpoint/file
USER PID ACCESS COMMAND
/tmp/mountpoint/file:
waba 22477 f.... tail
[1]+ Killed tail -f /tmp/mountpoint/file
$ sudo aptitude install psmisc=22.8-1 # or 22.9-1
[...]
$ tail -f /tmp/mountpoint/file &
[1] 22651
$ fuser -k -m -v /tmp/mountpoint/file
USER PID ACCESS COMMAND
/tmp/mountpoint/file:
root kernel mount /tmp/mountpoint
waba 22651 f.... tail
Killed # fuser killed itself
$ jobs
