Hi, please add following line to debian/rules instead of applying the patch:
DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS = --disable-strict With this option the compilation will not fail, when a warning exists. This will fix the FTBFS on sparc, powerpc, ia64 and armel with the gcc 4.4. -- Benjamin Drung Ubuntu Developer (www.ubuntu.com) | Debian Maintainer (www.debian.org)
