Package: dhcpcd Version: 1:3.2.3-4 Severity: normal Contrary to the submitter of #485484, I really don't see a need for a conflict between dhcp-clients. There are no namespace clashes, and dhcp-client functionality is mostly hardcoded. There is no defined dhcp-client interface in Debian, and so there is no need for just a single provider.
Please remove the conflicts. I am testing multiple DHCP clients in various scenarios and it's a pain to have to override dpkg all the time. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- .''`. martin f. krafft <[email protected]> Related projects: : :' : proud Debian developer http://debiansystem.info `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck http://vcs-pkg.org `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems
