Package: emacs21-common
Version: 21.4a-1
Severity: normal

The emacs21-common package includes the etags manual page in
/usr/share/man/man1/etags.1emacs21.gz. This causes "man etags" to
display the emacs version, in spite of the etags manual page at
/usr/share/man/man1/etags.1.gz which is managed by the Debian
alternatives system and my current preference for the exuberant version of
etags to be used.

I suggest /usr/share/man/man1/etags.1emacs21.gz be renamed to
/usr/share/man/man1/etags-emacs21.1.gz and the etags alternatives slave be
updated accordingly.

$ man -w etags
/usr/share/man/man1/etags.1emacs21.gz

$ /usr/sbin/update-alternatives --display etags
etags - status is auto.
 link currently points to /usr/bin/ctags-exuberant
/usr/bin/ctags-exuberant - priority 30
 slave etags.1.gz: /usr/share/man/man1/ctags-exuberant.1.gz
/usr/bin/etags.emacs21 - priority 24
 slave etags.1.gz: /usr/share/man/man1/etags.1emacs21.gz
Current `best' version is /usr/bin/ctags-exuberant.
