You also said you had problems with konqueror. And apparently random problems with epiphany. You should really investigate at the network level, either with a network sniffer (wireshark) or some other means (e.g. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/http/http-debugging.html) >From my POV, this is either a networking problem or a configuration problem.
