Package: gimp
Version: 2.6.7-1.1
Severity: important

Hmmm... as reading the severity causes the severity is critical cause it
breaks unrelated software (X). However, I think that is to much.

When using gimp with a wacom tablet (known as "Wacom PenStation2" to
hal) everything works well _if_ AutoAddDevices in xorg.conf is set to
false.

When setting that value to true (which is the default), gimp crashes
when the pen is _pressed_ on the tablet. Just moving without generating
a press event works.

The crash will not only crash the gimp than also the whole X server.
There is a backtrace in Xorg.0.log but it has no hint for me:
   Backtrace:
   0: /usr/bin/X(xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x81314cb]

   Fatal server error:
   Caught signal 11. Server aborting

I did some search and found a bug in ubuntu
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/57676) which is
referring to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351246. But
finally I don't think that this is exactly the same as it breaks only in
the moment when the pen is pressed on the tablet.

I also tried to use several settings for wacom in xorg.conf including
not to configure it at all but with the same result.

Finally, other applications like mypaint or "xinput test "Wacom
PenStation2" work well.
