Package: oss4-dkms Version: 4.2-build2002-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
This bug might be filed in the wrong place. If it belongs to oss4-base or any other package instead, I apologize and request a capable person to move it there. Upon updating my 2.6.32-kernel through the new provided packages, oss4 fails to start because it cannot load the modules. it reports: FATAL: Error inserting osscore (/lib/modules/2.6.32-trunk-amd64/updates/dkms/osscore.ko): Invalid module format the file in question is: /lib/modules/2.6.32-trunk-amd64/updates/dkms/osscore.ko: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped Running dkms uninstall/install on -m oss4 -v 4.2-build2002 doesn't change this behaviour. One has to completely uninstall, remove (I used --all), add, build and install the modules to fix the issue. On a side-note, the oss4-base init-script is called before the dkms-init-script is called. Maybe this should be changed. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (300, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages oss4-dkms depends on: ii dkms 2.1.1.0-2 Dynamic Kernel Module Support Fram ii oss4-base 4.2-build2002-1 Open Sound System - base package oss4-dkms recommends no packages. oss4-dkms suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
