But.. I have just tried with my laptop logging on the running either iceweasel or nautilus, closing the application and shutting down. Each time it shut down correctly until I opened a document as administrator (using nautilus-gksu). I shut the file and closed nautilus. This time, when I shut down I was returned to the login screen.
