Package: xtightvncviewer Version: 1.3.9-6 Severity: normal I use xtightvncviewer to connect to UltraVNC running under windows. The commandline switches I use the most are:
-bgr233 -encodings hextile .. most of the time this has given me the best performance and fastest speed. Of late, however, I've noticed that for some reason, either the server (UltraVNC) or the client (xtightvncviewer) will get stuck in an update loop where the screen is continually refreshed. Using F8 and manually requesting a refresh doesn't help however SOMETIMES clicking on a window on the remote end or moving it may. Most often I have to close the VNC session and reconnect. Is this likely a problem with the viewer or the server and if it's unclear how would one go about debugging it? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (700, 'unstable'), (600, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.28.4 (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xtightvncviewer depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-4 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libice6 2:1.0.6-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-15 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libsm6 2:1.1.1-1 X11 Session Management library ii libx11-6 2:1.3.2-1 X11 client-side library ii libxaw7 2:1.0.7-1 X11 Athena Widget library ii libxext6 2:1.1.1-2 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxmu6 2:1.0.5-1 X11 miscellaneous utility library ii libxpm4 1:3.5.8-1 X11 pixmap library ii libxt6 1:1.0.7-1 X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages xtightvncviewer recommends: ii xfonts-base 1:1.0.1 standard fonts for X Versions of packages xtightvncviewer suggests: ii ssh 1:5.2p1-1 secure shell client and server (me pn tightvncserver <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
