Dear all, I had a look at Mats Erik's proposed changes. According to the webapps policy, the files currently in /var/www should be moved to /usr/share/doc-central instad of /var/lib/doc-central, as they are static (http://webapps-common.alioth.debian.org/draft/html/). Then, to preserve the possibility to access http://localhost/dc/ out of the box, it is possible to register an alias for Apache and some other web servers. Although the webapps policy does not provide a template, it is easy to find some in /etc/apache2/conf.d. I can give you some help if you decide to go ahead and save doc-central.
