I have tested this on 2.6.32.3 to 2.6.32.5 and with 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 from debian/testing. Since cpufreqd 2.3.3-4: 1. current policy: frequency should be within 3.17 GHz and 3.17 GHz. instead of current policy: frequency should be within 2 GHz and 3.17 GHz., while available frequency steps: 3.17 GHz, 2.67 GHz, 2.33 GHz, 2.00 GHz and hardware limits: 2.00 GHz - 3.17 GHz rendering it unusable. 2. cpufreq-aperf shows weird frequencies. 3. The hardware is capable of stepping those frequencies, which can be proved on running cpufeq-info shortly after a fresh boot with result: cpufreq stats: 3.17 GHz:99,84%, 2.67 GHz:0,00%, 2.33 GHz:0,00%, 2.00 GHz:0,16% 4. Changing the governer does not solve it, It looks like it is not bound to a particular governer. Here is what i did. w...@ws-151:~$ sudo cpufreq-info cpufrequtils 006: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009 Report errors and bugs to cpuf...@vger.kernel.org, please. analyzing CPU 0: driver: acpi-cpufreq CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0 CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0 maximum transition latency: 10.0 us. hardware limits: 2.00 GHz - 3.17 GHz available frequency steps: 3.17 GHz, 2.67 GHz, 2.33 GHz, 2.00 GHz available cpufreq governors: conservative, userspace, powersave, ondemand, performance current policy: frequency should be within 3.17 GHz and 3.17 GHz.
