Package: vlc-nox Version: 1.0.4-2 Severity: wishlist is it really necessary that vlc-nox *Depends:* on libavc1394-0 and libraw1394-11? My laptop doesn't even have a firewire port, I'm sure vlc can operate without these libraries? And yes, space is not always cheap, think embedded devices or running off a USB stick or SD card...
The same is probably true of other libraries, e.g. do I need to have the libdvd* and libdvb* installed if I have neither of these devices? I'd wish vlc dependencies were more graded...
