Package: festival
Version: 1.96~beta-10
Severity: important

Hello,

I am runnign a linux box, and a server that are headless. so it is important
that festival can select itself alsa
preferably of /dev/dsp.
If someone is using the /dev/dsp then nothing works, adn that could be
important issue or result in desaster if people use server headless and rely on
festival.

here the .festivalrc
(Parameter.set 'Audio_Command "aplay -q -c 1 -t raw -f s16 -r $SR $FILE")
(Parameter.set 'Audio_Method 'Audio_Command)

Please use alsa so that everyone knows how to use festival and not be
frustrated as first try of festival:
as seen here: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=40548

Forums are good for debugging.

Best regards
Y.
