Hi Kumar,

I wonder, have you tried to follow recommendation thrown by matplotlib,
which was

consider setting MPLCONFIGDIR to a writable directory for matplotlib 
configuration data

i.e. instead of exporting HOME, to export MPLCONFIGDIR ?
