Looking at the result of a more or less recent scan of my current DVB-C
provider's frequencies I get this distribution of channels on a given
frequency:

$ cat channels.conf | awk -F: '{print $2}'|sort|uniq -c|sort -nr
     44 354000
     40 418000
     33 346000
     19 802000
     17 794000
     17 434000
     17 426000
     17 378000
     15 762000
     15 754000
     14 778000
     13 770000
     13 722000
     13 714000
     13 450000
     13 442000
     12 738000
     12 458000
     11 786000
     11 666000
     11 650000
     11 642000
     10 746000
     10 410000
     10 402000
     10 370000
      9 634000
      9 466000
      9 386000
      8 706000
      8 658000
      8 394000
      7 730000
      7 362000
      6 113000
      5 121000
      4 698000
      4 682000
      3 674000
      2 690000

So the current default of 16 seems too low to handle this case. 354000 is
"ARD" (Germany), consisting out of many radio *and* TV channels. 690000
is an example for HD frequencies. ;-)

Kind regards,
Philipp Kern
