Package: transmission-daemon Version: 1.77-1 Severity: important Hello! This is my first bug report to a debian package.
I had transmission-cli installed and I installed transmission-daemon. Then I removed transmission-daemon, and dpkg-statoverrides said that there were a fatal bug. ~ # apt-get remove transmission-daemon Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages will be REMOVED: transmission-daemon 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 15 not upgraded. After this point, it wasn't possible to install or remove any package, even with aptitude. (Or maybe it was. I am not sure now.) After some struggle, I managed to get the remove working with echo debian-transmission:x:110 >> /etc/group And then aptitude install -f After this, I was able to install transmission-gtk. I am not sure if this is a transmission-daemon bug. But I am on debian testing, so it isn't fully unexpected. It also could be something specific to my machine, but I didn't touched /etc/group before. It does not show the actual recovery, but it contains some info about my system.
