Hi, When you suggest to run dbus-launch, the actual command should be: $ eval `dbus-launch`
otherwise it doesn't have any effect on the environment. E.g.: $ eval `dbus-launch` $ export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS DBUS_SESSION_BUS_PID Note that use-session-dbus in /etc/X11/Xsession.options seems to work, as well, but dbus-1-utils is required, as he noted, otherwise it fails silently (which was the case here).
