I am afraid replacing qdbus with dbus-send makes no difference. I just tested upstream CVS revision 1.46 [1]. Unfortunately, it is just as broken as the one in Debian. See also comments 4 from FreeDesktop bug #26085 [2]. If I run: $ xdg-screensaver suspend 0x10f # 0x10f is my root window (xdpyinfo) KDE happily starts the screensaver after the normal timeout.
