Package: postgresql-common Version: 94lenny1 Followup-For: Bug #539585
Most of my postgresql-7.4 databases (all execpt for the two template databases) used UNICODE encoding, yet when i upgraded to postgresql-8.3, they were all converted back to SQL_ASCII, breaking my web apps (drupal). The only workaround i've found so far is to leave postgresql-7.4 installed, because the --locale flag on db_upgradecluster doesn't support UNICODE or en_US.UTF-8 as parameters, and the man page doesn't list any of the valid values. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-bpo.2-vserver-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages postgresql-common depends on: ii adduser 3.110 add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.24 Debian configuration management sy ii lsb-base 3.2-20 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii postgresql-client-common 94lenny1 manager for multiple PostgreSQL cl ii procps 1:3.2.7-11 /proc file system utilities Versions of packages postgresql-common recommends: ii ssl-cert 1.0.23 simple debconf wrapper for OpenSSL postgresql-common suggests no packages. -- debconf information: * postgresql-common/obsolete-major: postgresql-common/untransitioned: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
