This fetches the translations over the net where they may be no longer available and, moreover, immediately deletes a .po file after running msgfmt on it. But apparently it is possible to anonymously destroy^W update translations by putting junk^W strings into the text boxes that you retrieve when you select a language. Quality control, anyone? And please try to convince upstream to switch some sane method for maintaining the translations.
