The workaround seems to fix the bug, except for a detail.
After setting network.protocol-handler.warn-external-default to false,
when I click on a mailto: link, I get a Sylpheed compose window, but
also a new Sylpheed instance, if Sylpheed was already running.

This is strange and should not happen, since if I issue the following
command from a terminal, while Sylpheed is running:

  $ sylpheed --compose [email protected]

I get a compose window for the already running instance of Sylpheed,
as I am supposed to get.

Taking into account that:

  $ gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/mailto/command
  sylpheed --compose %s

I really cannot understand why clicking on a mailto: link from Galeon
should result in a different outcome, with respect to the command-line
invocation!

I tested Epiphany, again, and it works as intended (no new instance
of Sylpheed).

When is this next upload planned?

Also, it seems to me that there's a couple of NMUs waiting to be
acknowledged...
