This is probably not an issue in wireless-tools, but a firmware issue.

Which version of the firmware-iwlwifi package do you have installed?

Which version of the WiFi firmware did you have installed in CentOS?

Which version of wireless-tools did you have installed in CentOS?

If you change the firmware file to the one installed in CentOS, does
that fix the problem?

If you change the firmware file to the older one listed on the upstream
website, does that fix the problem?

do any of those fix the problem?
