Package: gpsd Version: 2.28-2 Severity: normal
Hi I do not understand that much python, but I think i figured out the problem. When the USB Serial Device is plugged in those steps happen: - The Hotplug script waits for the device to appear. - The Hotplug script sends the device name to the gpsd socket. - The script notices that gpsd is not yet running and starts it. - End. So you end up with gpsd running, but as sending the device name failed, gpsd never does connect to the serial port. -Benoit- -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-mh1 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages gpsd depends on: ii dbus-1 0.23.4-3 simple interprocess messaging syst ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.55 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.1-3 GCC support library ii libncurses5 5.4-9 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libstdc++6 4.0.1-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii netbase 4.21 Basic TCP/IP networking system Versions of packages gpsd recommends: ii gpsd-clients 2.28-2 clients for the GPS service daemon ii python 2.3.5-3 An interactive high-level object-o -- debconf information: * gpsd/start_daemon: false gpsd/device: gpsd/daemon_options: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
