Package: qemu
Version: 0.12.3+dfsg-1
Severity: normal

Hi!

Not sure if this is qemu or seabios problem (I have seabios 0.5.1-2
package installed), but suddenly qemu-system-x86_64's -kernel option
does not work. It complains (to qemu's stderr) that

   Could not open option rom 'linuxboot.bin': No such file or directory

Per strace, it tries to open /usr/share/qemu/linuxboot.bin and then
linuxboot.bin in the current directory. However neither exists. There
is one in the seabios package, but it's not in /usr/share/qemu.

$ apt-file search linuxboot.bin
qemu-kvm: /usr/share/kvm/linuxboot.bin
seabios: /usr/share/seabios/optionrom/linuxboot.bin

A symlink /usr/share/seabios/optionrom/linuxboot.bin ->
/usr/share/qemu/linuxboot.bin fixes this (if seaboot is installed).

        Sami
