Yes, it does. after having complained about a "serious error", with a
single button which sais "Quit". A user not well informed will click
on that button and thus terminate mathematica, instead of simply
closing the window and having everything fine -- just as you say.

I see, thanks for the information. Will there be a replacement, a way
to unite the fonts, such that `xlsfonts` finds them? Or do I have to
insert all font paths from all font packages in xorg.conf, in order
to, for example avoid the error message my mathematica?
