This is sooooooooo broken it is not even funny... Testing all combinations now:
1. Bind mounting via automount on server (as would have worked flawlessly with v3 maps) and reading - v4 clients hang. 2. Mounting multiple v4 clients (no v3) via automount- automount daemon in D state as well as processes trying to read/write off the share. However if you kill the process it recovers. 3. Mix of v3 and v4 clients - v4 clients hang. Basically v4 as shipped in lenny is completely broken under automount at present. I am going back to v3 for the time being until I read through the changes in the autofs code from .26 onwards...
