In the first case, it must be named differently than ddrescue then,
like gnu-ddrescue or ddrescue-gnu. But I think it'd be great overkill
to have two such packages, so instead, I suggest to file a wishlistbug
on ddrescue to switch upstream to GNU.

Actually, see #316467. This is already requested. Please followup to
that bug.
