Hello, python 2.4 is no more supported in unstable/testing (in fact it was removed from teh archive) and won't be present in the upcoming stable release; you can also remove it from your system.
Compatibility bugs for 2.4 are no longer valid (but I'm not closing it since i'm neither the pacakge maitainer nor the original reporter).
