Hi, I recently configured BIND on one of my servers and encountered the same error as described in the bug report from 2008:
20-Apr-2010 20:09:19.383 general: error: setsockopt(523, IPV6_RECVPKTINFO) failed: Protocol not available 20-Apr-2010 20:09:19.384 general: error: socket.c:2067: unexpected error: Debian version is: calo-ila:/home/jens# cat /etc/debian_version 5.0.4 BIND version (Debian package) is: calo-ila:/home/jens# named -v BIND 9.5.1-P3 On a 2nd server I don't see the message, although the configuration is quite identical. Only difference is the Server with the problem runs IPv6 via a SiXXS Tunnel and the other has native IPv6. I can access both DNS servers via IPv6.
