Yes, Slaven (the upstream maintainer) and I know about this. Once 5.12 is released properly (which it sounds like it might have been) there will be a formal release of a new version of Perl-tk to support it.
I think Slaven is subscribed to the perl-tk bug reports so hopefully he will comment.
