Package: grep Version: 2.6.3-3 Severity: normal This used to work in grep 2.5.4-4 :
echo "hello" | grep "[\-.]" but now it returns this: grep: Invalid range end whereas the following has always worked fine (and continues to do so): echo "hello" | grep "[.\-]" I'm not quite sure if one of them is valid and the other one isn't (couldn't find this in the grep manual). But one thing to note is that it used to work and so I had logcheck rules using it and then the upgrade to grep 2.6 broke this for me.
