Package: laptop-mode-tools
Version: 1.08-1
Severity: normal

Don't /dev/null laptop_mode in /etc/init.d/laptop_mode.
There's a VERBOSE_OUTPUT variable that is meant for that. Default should be 0.

Thanks.
