I think I can see why adding hal to dependencies would be not good. If
a user has no intention of using pmount-hal, then installing it is a
waste of resources. But perhaps code could be added to pmount-hal that
issues a more helpful warning to a user than the message that I
reported. e.g.

"Install package hal for this to work."

I think this would be better than putting hal in the suggests list, because
when I installed pmount, I had no intention of using pmount-hal. It was only
later that I took an interest in it, and didn't think to check suggests.
