This problem relates to changes in the Qt bindings. It has been addressed in more recent versions of Calibre, so presumably the resolution to this involves updating to a modern version of Calibre. ERROR: ERROR: Unhandled exception TypeError:argument 1 of QAbstractitemModel.createIndex() has an invalid type ===================================== The resolution was that the bug was rectified in trunk, on 2009-06-11: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kovid/calibre/trunk/revision/3005 This was part of the changes released as version 0.6.0, on 2009-07-25. Note also that as a consequence of the lack of updates to the Debian deployment, others have been working on Debian-style packaging. (For instance, so that much newer versions may be deployed for U*u**u...) http://bugs.calibre-ebook.com/ticket/1435 The package has been undergoing pretty steady development - what's in Debian at this point is *REALLY* behind.
