That's the idea, I have just been lacking time/priority for gksu-polkit
lately =(

Weird. I will bet this is a bug in the server, that is leaving the
client serverless, and it goes crazy. I need to fix both bugs, so let's
try to figure them out.

Can you please login as root, then run /usr/sbin/gksu-server, then run
gksu-polkit to run synaptic, and tell me if gksu-server is crashing? Are
you on AMD64?
