apt-proxy somehow doesn't deliver the Release.gpg files to apt(-get|itude), so that these put the Release.gpg into the partial folder in /var/lib/apt/lists and thus the verification of the Release file fails. I tried this repository: ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ sid main switching between non-apt-proxy sources.list entry and apt-proxy sources.list entry for that repository always works. That means, using apt-proxy for that repository allways make apt-get put the Release.gpg into the partial folder and using the direct deb-line works correct. I had the same problem with unstable's apt-proxy backend, but it seems that switching from deb http://localhost:9999/debian unstable ... to deb http://localhost:9999/debian sid solved this. But it's reproducable, switching back to the "unstable"-line again doesn't retrieve the Release.gpg correctly. And subsequent apt-get updates' don't solve this dilemma. I'm attaching some parts of my apt-proxy log for that marillat-repository and 2 files for debian-unstable and debian-sid lines, I hope you see more in that than I do :-( If the problem in fact is on apt's side, please reassign, but I doubt it...
